Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950)

The Samsung Galaxy S8 continues with the tradition of amazing displays on Samsung devices with a 5.8" Super AMOLED always-on display. Coupled with the slightly curved edge and smooth but not cheap feeling back glass, made this phone quite popular when it was released in 2017. It has since been discontinued but does offer a great value for those looking for affordable cell phones under $200 in Ontario.

Aside from it's superior display for the price point, the dual Octa-core CPU and 4GB of RAM is still impressive for most smartphone users looking for a budget-conscious device.

Security updates have been dropped by Samsung for this device as well as the Galaxy S9 Series, but unlike iPhone users S8 users wont be locked out of essential apps like Facebook and YouTube or be relegated to browser only usage. The Samsung S8 features a 3,000mAh battery which charges via USB-C - unlike the micro-USB cables needed for the Galaxy S7. This has also made QuickCharge 2.0 capability possible, as well as continued support for wireless charging.
