Should You Buy A Used or New iPhone X?
There are inevitably going to be less expensive iPhone X devices being sold on sites like Kijiji and Facebook marketplace. While these might be tempting as they are offered at a lower price point there are a few reasons you might not want to risk it. First would be the risk of blacklisting. Anyone who sells you a phone could easily report the IMEI as stolen or have stolen the phone themselves which will inevitably result in it being blacklisted - i.e. marked unusable on any cellular network.
The second issue that many people fail to realize is that inexperienced repair shops can often damage the Face ID module and this can cause delay or intermittent access to the phone. If you do decide to buy used, then definitely check the Face ID functionality by adding your face to the phone and locking / unlocking it with your face to make sure it is actually as responsive as you need it to be.
