Is the iPhone XS still worth buying in 2020?

The iPhone XS was released in 2017 while the iPhone X was released in 2018. While it is very similar in terms of aesthetics, the camera, battery life and chip speed are all noticeably improved. The XS currently supports iOS 14.4.1 and is not expected to be outdated or deprecated in the next few years, and as such it’s still a great value for those that want a device with an OLED display, no home button and a faster processor than the iPhone X.

Will Apple sell a refurbished iPhone XS?

If you’re looking for refurbished iPhone XS devices, the Apple Store doesn’t sell them and only stocks brand new, sealed iPhone XS units. There are refurbished units available in the U.S via online channels only but not in Ontario. Third party vendors on marketplaces like Best Buy or eBay may offer these phones as refurbished but no one has better prices, transparency and overall device quality than SimplyFixIT. Does the iPhone XS have a good battery?

Why was iPhone XS discontinued?

If you check the Apple site in Ontario, you won’t see the iPhone XS listed, as it appears only to be available on the U.S side as a gently used or refurbished iPhone. There is no official release or reasoning why this is the case, but the theory is that Apple makes more profit on the iPhone X series of devices, or that there is a shortage and they want to ween it off the market.
